Websites for UK churches

Be found.

On a Sunday morning, and at eleven at night. Beautiful websites for UK churches, and you see yours before you pay a penny.

How it works

Most churches are already a light. The road just moved.

People used to find a church by walking past it.

Now they search on their phone, often late at night, sometimes when life is hard.

If your website is hard to find or hard to use, they may never make it to your door.

this is the road now

What a good church website does

the way it works

See it first. Decide after.

  1. Tell us about your church

A short form: your name, where you meet and when you gather. It takes about five minutes.

  2. We build your mock-up

We design a real homepage for your church using your details and photos. It's free, with no obligation.

  3. Love it? It's yours.

If you'd like to go ahead, we finish the site and get it live. If not, you owe us nothing.

some fell on good soil

Everything a visitor looks for, and nothing they don't

Nobody lights a lamp and hides it away. They put it on a stand, so everyone in the house can see.

Who's behind it

Between us we've sat through a lot of church meetings about the website. It was usually built years ago by someone kind who gave up their evenings for it, and nobody dares touch it now.

We started Church Online because every church we know is already a light. We just want people to be able to see it from the road.

Reuben Mowle

Church leader, worship leader, filmmaker

Reuben has been a church leader for five years and led worship for nine, and he still serves at his local church on the Isle of Wight. The rest of the week he's a filmmaker and photographer, and he builds websites for small businesses on the Island.

Joe Shurmer

Worship leader and artist

Joe grew up on the Isle of Wight and has worked in ministry for most of his adult life: leading worship at City Life Church in Portsmouth, then as worship pastor at St Matthew's in Worthing, and now at Newport Minster, back on the Island. He started the Lionheart Festival, a Christian music festival on the Island's County Showground, and he leads worship and makes art. He has friends in churches all over the country.

Wherever you are

We're on the Isle of Wight, and we work with churches right across the UK. Everything happens online, so a village chapel in Cumbria is as easy to look after as a church plant in Leeds.

Good questions

Is the mock-up really free?

Yes. We build it, you look at it, and if it isn't right for you, that's the end of it. No invoice, no pressure.

How long does the mock-up take?

Usually about a week. We email you a link when it's ready, and you can pass it round your leadership team.

We're a small church. Is this for us?

Very likely. Tell us about your church and we'll be straight with you about what fits your budget.

We already have a website. Can you move it over?

Yes. We bring your words, photos and sermons across as part of the £99, and point your current web address at the new site so nobody gets lost.

How do we make changes?

Log in to your Church Online hub and say what you need, in plain English: "Carols are at 6pm on the 21st" or "Add a photo of the new hall". You see the change before it goes live, and you can undo it. Anything bigger, we'll talk through with you first.

What are credits?

Credits are how changes are counted in your hub. You get 100 a month. A small change is one credit, a change with a photo is two, and something bigger is five. Undo is free. They don't roll over, and if you run out, a top-up is £10 for another 100.

What if we want to stop?

Within the first 30 days, a full refund. After that there's a £99 early-exit fee in your first year, and your site and web address go with you.

Do you work with every kind of church?

We do. Village parishes, city church plants and everything in between, right across the UK.

Let's put the candle back in the window.

Tell us about your church and we'll send you a free mock-up of your new website.
